Bea was presented with the award to commemorate her father's passing. Aisling Cliodhnadh was born on March 16, 1984 in Kildare Town in County Kildare. The father of her Brian was a veterinarian for horses who committed suicide when Bea was three years old. She was not told how he died until she reached the age of thirteen. In 2017, Bea wrote an essay for The Guardian about the suicide of her father's relatives and adopted her stage name Bea in tribute. Bea, along with her sister Sinead and her sister Sinead, were brought up with Helen Moloney (n e Moloney) an ex-jockey and teacher at a secondary-school. The family was passionate about horses and races. Bea began her career as a tour guide at the Irish National Stud. However, she realized early on that the race industry wasn't for her.
