John Denver is a popular singer and songwriter who has touched many people with his songs. Many of these were inspired by Colorado. Born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, he was in the love of Colorado and later moved to Aspen. Denver's songs for his home state have drawn many to Colorado. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the curator of this hall of fame said: "I don't believe there anyone else who has as much a connection to Colorado like John Denver." Denver was the Hall of Fames' first inductee, was honored by the honor in 2011. Denver has been the symbol of Colorado for many people across the globe. In my travels I've encountered individuals from New Zealand or the other side. If you inform that you're from Colorado, the first words they say are"Oh John Denver. Brown clarified. Take Me Home Country Roads was one of Denver's top 10 singles following a performance with a small folk music bands. It was co-written by and recorded by Bill Danoff. Danoff initially wrote the song using Johnny Cash's songs in mind, but Denver realized from the first time he heard the early versions that the song was going to be an instant success. The song was recorded just a few days following playing in Washington D.C. before an crowd that was extremely enthusiastic.
